ASPIRING MELBOURNE WRITERS // ✏️Do you have words inside of you that are waiting to be read and published? 🤔Is there something you would like to share with others but you just need to know how to start? 🏁
I first started publishing content online in 2001 when I launched my first website - and I haven’t stopped.
I started with non-fiction and I have been publishing poems as well since 2016.
I now have well over 1,200 pieces of content online (plus three websites and multiple social media profiles).
And I love it! 😍
Some of the many benefits I have had include:
⭐ sorting my thoughts
⭐ connecting with people worldwide
⭐ re-connecting with people I have known in the past
⭐ finding out that my words have made a difference
⭐ seeing my words shared by others
⭐ securing incredible opportunities to collaborate
⭐ learning and growing with each new piece
⭐ exploring concepts in more depth
⭐ sharing my lived experience with research
⭐ being invited to do really interesting things
⭐ receiving heartfelt and inspiring feedback
⭐ discovering my content in foreign countries
⭐ inspiring people with art, music and passion projects
⭐ making my content accessible 24/7/365 in an hour of need
⭐ not hearing from people but knowing I am sending out solutions
⭐ humble gratefulness and a commitment to continue
⭐ a desire to share this opportunity with others
I will admit, it hasn’t always been a ‘bed of roses’ and it has taken a bit of courage to:
🌱 overcome negative comments from people I know
🌱 deal with negative comments from people I don’t know
🌱 continue after dealing with negative feedback (not often but challenging)
🌱 overcome my own level of perfectionism (80% is good enough)
🌱 constantly look for better ways to do things and to reach aligned people
🌱 keep up to date with the systems and options available
🌱 enter competitions and never win
🌱 and other random things...on a zero budget
